Hi Guys
I have to leave the shop for a few days but want to run this buy you. I am getting the OLF OM mold master and patterns ready.
Would anyone be interested in a group special?
$110 delivered for the mold and patter in the US. That is $20 off my reg price.
   Let me know.

The oLF OM is pattern came fron a tracing from a Martin Om kit guitar that came through my shop several years ago. It is real close but not aparently exact to the Martin OM-000-14 fret. I built my original molds years ago off this tracing, so it became my standard OM shape. I believe that the radius I used in the waist is slightly larger than the radius Martin uses, but I don't have an actual Martin mold so I cant say for sure. The spread at the waist sould be the same. body length and upper bout and lower bout also should be the same as Martin, but due to the larger waist radius the transitions between waist and upper and lower bouts may not match exact.

I am getting the print so I can check these to them. If this is the base then I may just use the Martin pattern as that is what we are going after.
I have a 1949 000 in my shop at present for a reneck. UPS broke this and I got it back for the repair . Double pay for the same job.
   Gotta love it

Let me know John, as my Martin specs show the same upper, lower bouts, waist position and body length as on the OLF plans Now that is not saying that my specs can't be wrong. I downloaded them many moons ago off a website that no longer exists, they matched my tracing so I assumed they were correct.MichaelP38770.6303703704

I've got one of John's OM/000 molds and compared it to the OLF OM plans just a few days ago. The variations are very slight. I'm thinking that one of them was 1/8" longer than the other. I don't remember which.

I pretty much caulked up the difference to possible errors in making my tracing from the mold.

I also compared it to the LMI plans and a couple of different body templates I've collected for OM/000s. There are slight variations in each of them. None seem to be enough be concerned about.

The most interesting thing I found in comparing the templates and plans is a fairly significant difference in the size and placement of the sound hole.

I figure that the way I put these things together, along with my general problems reading and following directions or plans, any variation in the plans and molds is something I shouldn't worry too much about.
